Client care
Care guide
With the right care, silk and embroidery keep their sheen for many years. Please always also follow the care label on your piece.
Washing
- Hand washing in cold to lukewarm water (30 °C at most) is the gentlest option.
- Alternatively: the delicate or silk programme of your washing machine at 30 °C, turned inside out and in a laundry bag.
- Use a mild detergent for silk, without bleach and without fabric softener.
- Do not soak, rub or wring. Press out the water gently, ideally rolled up in a towel.
Drying
- Dry flat or on a hanger in the air.
- Do not tumble dry and do not leave in direct sunlight or on a radiator – sun and heat can fade the colours.
Ironing
- Iron slightly damp and on the reverse, at a low setting (silk, one dot).
- Never iron the embroidery directly. Place it face down on a soft towel so it keeps its relief.
- Do not steam directly onto the embroidery.
Storage
Store your piece clean, dry and away from light, ideally in a cotton bag or tissue paper. Avoid plastic covers so the silk can breathe. Jewellery, zips and hook-and-loop fasteners can snag threads – please take care.
A thread has come loose?
Please do not pull or cut it. Send us a photo at hello@lamsastore.de and we will gladly help.
