About Lamsa
Lamsa – لمسة – means “touch” in Arabic. That is what we are about: pieces you touch, give and keep.
Our story
Lamsa grew out of a love for two things: the poetry of the Arabic language and the art of embroidery. In many Arab families, embroidered cloths, throws and cushions are passed down from one generation to the next. They tell of weddings, of feast days and of home.
We want to bring this tradition into the present: with clear, timeless design, fine materials and words that mean something.
What we stand for
- Words with meaning: every piece carries a line of Arabic poetry, a song lyric or calligraphy, chosen with care and respect for the language.
- Embroidery with precision: stitch by stitch, dense and even, so the embroidery stays beautiful for many years.
- Fine materials: fabrics such as pure silk, chosen for their touch, their sheen and their durability.
- Made to be passed on: not for a season, but for a lifetime – and beyond.
Our first piece
We begin with a pair of embroidered pillowcases in pure silk. They are dedicated to one of the most beautiful love lines in Arabic song: “Ana la habibi, w habibi ili” – I belong to my beloved, and my beloved belongs to me. One line for each side of the bed.
Further collections for Ramadan and Eid and for weddings are in preparation. If you would like to hear about them first, sign up for our newsletter.
